JoSAA 2019: Last date to apply for IITs, NITs is 25th June

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is an agency established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) to regulate the admission process of over 100 tertiary institutes in the country including the IITs, NITs, and BITS Pilani. It was exactly a week ago that JoSAA released the schedule and registration process for 2019.

As per the schedule that was released, the process will close tomorrow i.e. June 25, 2019. Taking a note of the closing date is critical because those who do not register by the closing date cannot seek admission for this academic year. The application process for JEE Mains as well as JEE Advanced will be closed at sharp 5:00 pm tomorrow. Interested candidates can apply though the JoSAA website. The mock seat allocation will begin today on the website, while the final seat allocation will start from June 27th.

JoSAA has scheduled the second seat allocation round on July 3rd followed by the third round on July 6th. There will be total seven seat allocation rounds. In case of IITs, the seventh seat allocation round will end on July 19. For NITs, the seventh round document certification and acceptance of seats will start from July 19 and end on July 23.

Here’s how you can apply for JoSAA 2019:

• Visit the official website.
• On homepage, click on ‘JoSAA 2019 candidates registration and choice filling’.
• Login using your JEE Mains/Advanced application number.
• Fill the choice form to select the colleges.
• You will be redirected to the payment page.

Choice filling is an important step as you will get only one chance to lock the seat. There is no option to modify the choice once selected. Without filing the choice, candidates will not get to attend the counselling round. Those who have cleared only JEE Mains can apply for admission in any college except IITs.

JoSAA has the central seat allotment system for NITs, IITs, IIESTs, IIITs and other government funded institutes. Based on the counselling round, admissions will be granted to 107 institutes including the 18 IITs.
